AS Welding Automation with Drawer System for Dual-Station Operation

This automation system has a working area of 2 x 1800 x 700 mm, divided between two drawers. The table can be used either in dual-station mode or as a single area for large workpieces.

The drawer system enables an efficient work process with maximum time efficiency: while the CNC processes the workpieces in one drawer, finished parts can be removed from the other drawer and new ones loaded. This ensures a smooth and efficient workflow.

The system is also equipped with two AS Ak1 welding heads. These can either weld two different stud types onto one workpiece without any changeover time, or work in tandem to cut processing time in half. In tandem mode, the heads operate synchronously and process two workpieces positioned side by side.

In addition, the drawer system features a pneumatically controlled extension and retraction system that supports the operator and reduces physical strain in daily use.

Stud feeding is fully automated and monitored by the new digital VBZ 5100 stud feeding system. Simply pour the studs straight from the bag into the separating unit, and they are automatically separated and fed to the welding head as required by the process.

As such a complex automation system quickly involves many components that would considerably increase programming effort, we offer a DXF post-processor. It is tailored to each automation project and generates the program for the user fully automatically. Just a few clicks are needed to define the production parameters, and with the stored workpiece drawing, the machine is ready for operation in seconds.
